Professional Blog for CEWE Photoworld
CEWE is the UK branch of Europe's biggest photo printing company, and I used to tap away all day writing their blog. Sometimes researching photography tips, sometimes interviewing photographers, and sometimes just writing about the CEWE products and latest goings on.
The blog is released on a regular weekly schedule, to benefit the main site's SEO, as well as providing engaging content to filter through emails and social media.
Photographing the Northern Lights: Photographer Interview
This post was writen for the CEWE Photoworld Pro target audience; a combination of professional and aspiring professional photographers.
For this post, I had the pleasure of interviewing a genuine customer. I then built the content into a series of two blog posts designed to inspire the CEWE Pro audience - professional and aspiring photographers.
The content for this blog performs well when featured in emails and social media posts.
You can read the blog (and check out Martin’s incredible photography!) here.
Salt and Coconuts
I had a great chat over email with the lovely folks behind the Salt and Coconuts blog. The material for the interview was then used to create a series of two blog posts (one about the couple as bloggers and their photography tips, and a second about the photo book they made to commemorate the holiday), as well as print content for the CEWE Magazine.
I decided to split this content into two posts, with a second post focusing on the actual photo book, as I had put a heat map on the main blog landing page and found that “Photobook Inspiration” was the most clicked-on category. This blog post was one of our best performing of the year, in terms of converting into clicks through to the download software link and main photo book page.
5 Inspiring Women in Photography
One of my most successful blog posts for CEWE, resulting in a massive spike in site traffic via social media on its publish date.
I created this post specifically to celebrate International Women's Day, and decided to feature 5 female photographers whose work I admired. I chose two well-known established photographers, two relatively unknown photographers, and one early pioneer whose work is often forgotten.
The two lesser known photographers have a smaller, but very devoted social media following. They were both pleased to be featured in the post and shared it on their social media pages, resulting in a big spike in traffic - and brand awareness within our target auduence.
Whitstable Love
Another popular post on the CEWE blog, I found the Whitstable Love post on our German sister site. The various CEWE offices are encouraged to share and repost each others content, and I immediately saw the potential for a post that would translate well to our UK audience.
The original post was in German, but the imagery was great, aside from needing a few text translations in Photoshop. Not all of the post was suitable to use, but it had some great concepts to expand upon instead; such as the idea of falling in love with a location, and creating a travel guide based upon your passions. I translated and repurposed the blog for a UK audience, and it always drives good engagement.
