Heroes of Havoc

Idle Adventures

A fun, original game developed for mobile devices by Lab42. The game was built to tie into an existing franchise, but the team felt it needed something extra to add personality and depth.

I was brought in to generate dialogue, character bios, skill descriptions and write the intro. I used existing content from other products within the franchise to keep the game consistent with the rest of the Might and Mayhem universe.

Naked Gun ICUP

A point and click adventure

A fully voiced point and click adventure game for Android and iOS devices, Naked Gun ICUP was created for Paramount by DNA Studios to capitalise on the Naked Gun license and create a spin-off franchise, International Crime Unit Police.

The script was developed by myself, along with Naked Gun film writer Bob LoCash and lead game developer Terry Goodwin, resulting in four to five hours of gameplay and final voiced content exceeding two hours.

The Naked Gun license has since lapsed, so the game is no longer available to purchase. The video on this page is a review of the game.

You can also read an excerpt, if you like silly Police Squad-inspired humour.

L.O.L. SURPRISE! Dance Off

A trading card game with a digital spin

Developed by Fish in a Bottle, the L.O.L. SURPRISE! Dance Off! app and website were created to accompany the trading card game.

I was brought on board to work some word magic on both the website and the app. I turned the high-level concept created by the designers into an engaging tutorial that would teach new players how to play the game while staying true to the house tone of voice that fans of the brand know and love. I also provided in-game flavour text, copywriting and search engine optimisation for the website.

Totally fierce, B.B!

Merlin

Unfinished game for smartphones and tablets

A point and click adventure game, created by DNA Studios for Fremantle Media. I wrote the script and designed the puzzles for the first two episodes of a proposed trilogy based on the hit BBC television show Merlin.

The script and design were approved and well-received by the license holder, but ultimately the project wasn't taken ahead due to business reasons. It's a crying shame.
